Maximize Your Lifelong Learning with the Plastic Surgery Education Network's Learning Management System, ASPS EdNet!

The ASPS Education Network (EdNet) is the Learning Management System of the Plastic Surgery Education Network (PSEN), offering accredited online Continuing Medical Education.  A centralized, interactive educational website, created by surgeons for surgeons. EdNet offers a lifetime of learning from residency to retirement. It is fully functional, and a one-stop shop for all plastic surgery specialties.

Our new learning portal has been upgraded to:

  • Advance your competence
  • Enhance your practice performance
  • Promote patient safety
  • Improve patient outcomes

The new learning portal offers a way for you to manage your continued education utilizing ASPS Education Network resources. You can keep track of videos and courses you want to review, check grades, view course and test details, and more. Below are just a few content categories on the new ASPS Education Network.

ASPS EdNet Mission Statement

The ASPS - Education Network serves as the complete, comprehensive online education portal for ASPS members, residents, and the global plastic surgery community from residency to retirement. The learning platform includes a complete, interactive core curriculum complemented with the latest instructional courses, procedural videos, case reports, and self-assessment tools. The ASPS-EN is the ideal partner in your commitment to lifelong learning.

ASPS University

The ASPS University provides virtual courses for plastic surgeons and other medical professionals on both practice management and clinical topics. Led by recognized experts in the field, these interactive and on-demand online classes provide participants with in-depth information on a variety of subject areas. Surgically focused courses have covered body-contouring, abdominal wall reconstruction, and migraine. Practice management topics have included late career planning and essentials of coding. To fit with your busy lifestyle, courses are available in several different formats; from e-learning and webinars to podcasts and surgical videos. New courses and topics are continuously being added.

PRS CME Journal Articles

For more than 70 years, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery®, the official journal of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, has been the one consistently excellent reference for every specialist who uses plastic surgery techniques or works in conjunction with a plastic surgeon. Through ASPS EdNet, you can earn AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM and Patient Safety credit for reviewing select PRS articles.

Microsurgery 101

Need a refresher on Microsurgery? ASPS EdNet features a series of microsurgery courses designed for surgeons looking for a comprehensive refresher on certain microsurgery techniques. Lead my the leading microsurgeons in the field, these member benefit courses provide presentations, surgical how to videos, and supplemental materials.

ASPS EdNet PRS QR Program

The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery® Quarterly Review (PRS QR Program) provides everything ASPS members need to create their very own journal club with their fellow peers and earn CME in the process.

Quarterly Case Reports

What would you do? Test yourself by reading the patient presentations in our case reports and then choosing what operative path you would take. ASPS EdNet offers case reports that encompass all sub-specialties of plastic surgery. Track your time spent on case reports via the My Courses function.

Surgery Spotlight

Exclusive HD video program produced by the ASPS Education Network, Surgery Spotlight is a "how-to" program that features surgical videos demonstrating plastic surgery procedures from markings to final stitches. All Surgery Spotlight videos are free for members to view, and some also include an optional CME test that can be purchased to earn credit for the activity. Programs have covered everything from aesthetic procedures like rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty and breast augmentation to reconstructive cases like SIEA and DIEP flap breast reconstruction, mandible reconstruction and facial reinnervation.

Resident Education Curriculum (REC)

Thanks to a joint program between ACAPS and ASPS, the ASPS Education Network offers more than 100 self-assessment modules for practicing surgeons and residents alike. Each module provides journal article readings, presentations, videos, and tests that cover all aspects of the specialty, including Practice Management. Program directors are welcome to enroll their residents in the ASPS Education Network REC and review transcripts to track progress.
