Managing complex hernias requires careful decision-making that spans all phases of care, including preoperative patient selection and risk reduction, careful intra-operative component separation selection and mesh choice, and long-term follow-up and management. In this course, we will explore evidence to guide pre-operative strategies to reduce risk, discuss important goals for why we repair complex hernias, and describe reliable techniques to improve outcomes.
