An otherwise-healthy 9 year-old girl presented to clinic with a slowly-enlarging, painful mass in her left anterior thigh. She had no history of trauma to the area. An initial x-ray performed by her primary care physician a year prior demonstrated no abnormal findings. Her symptoms progressed such that she developed difficulty walking normally on that leg.
