Video Transcription
When we're discussing masseter injections, I've identified the borders of the masseter, and you can see, clench please, and you can feel the anterior border right to here. And I've identified the masseter, our superior margin is from the tragus to the oral commissure. Now we also want to think about where the rosarius is, and that's one of the most unpredictable ones, we know that it affects and overlaps part of the masseter anteriorly, so we try to stay at least a centimeter behind the anterior edge of the masseter. Now given the heads of the masseter, we want to use a one-inch needle, this is the five-point technique, and you can see the five points outlined here, and I use a one-inch needle so I can get in a little bit deeper, and get my product exactly where I'd like it to go. The amount of toxin we're using is 40 units in total, and we're going to separate that into five equal doses of 8 units in each of the regions. You cannot do this with a BD needle, you will not get to the deep part of the masseter.
Video Summary
The video discusses the technique for masseter injections, highlighting the importance of identifying anatomical borders and landmarks. The superior margin is defined from the tragus to the oral commissure. Special attention is given to avoiding the rosarius muscle, which overlaps the masseter, by staying at least a centimeter from its anterior edge. The procedure utilizes a one-inch needle for deeper penetration, following a five-point technique to distribute 40 units of toxin equally across the regions. The presenter emphasizes that using a BD needle is inadequate for reaching the deeper parts of the masseter.
