Video Transcription
This video will demonstrate a wide-awake completion of subtotal amputation of the long finger by a congenital amniotic band. When newborns start to suck, they go into a trance. And if you gently massage the finger and push the skin into the needle, they don't even flinch when the needle goes in, as you see in this child. And by the time they're finished eating, they fall asleep. And while they're asleep in their parents' arms, you can do the surgery with field sterility in minor procedure rooms. This can be done with ear nubbins, toes, fingers, and so on. And here's the child one year after surgery.
Video Summary
The video demonstrates a surgical procedure for newborns with subtotal amputation of the long finger due to a congenital amniotic band. It highlights a technique where the newborn is calmed during feeding, allowing the surgery to be performed while they sleep in their parents' arms. This approach uses gentle massage and careful technique to minimize discomfort, allowing for field sterility surgery in minor procedure rooms. This method can be applied to various minor surgeries on ear nubbins, toes, and fingers. The video concludes by showing the successful recovery of the child one year post-surgery.
