He explained facial aging as a layered, ligament-driven process involving soft tissue descent, volume loss, and skeletal changes. He reviewed the anatomy of the SMAS and retaining ligaments, and compared SMAS plication, SMASectomy, and deep plane facelift. He emphasized that good outcomes depend more on patient selection, anatomy, and surgeon judgment than on technique alone. He also addressed social media’s influence on patient expectations, noting that surgeons must use honest education, realistic counseling, and authentic before-and-after examples to manage misinformation and unrealistic demands.  <br /><br />Professor Seng Demidova discussed medical tourism in Turkey, presenting survey data from international plastic surgeons. He highlighted the main drivers of medical travel: lower cost, shorter waiting times, and marketing. He described common procedures, complication patterns, and major challenges such as poor communication, missing records, and unregulated facilitators. He recommended board certification checks, public surgeon registries, facilitator regulation, mandatory complication insurance, and standardized informed consent.  <br /><br />Professor Ghulam Qadir Fayyaz shared Pakistan’s transformation of cleft care from a local service into a large international program. He described building surgical capacity, multidisciplinary cleft care, mission-based outreach, training teams, and long-term collaboration with global partners. His message emphasized teamwork, perseverance, patient-centered care, and sustainable comprehensive cleft services.
