Video Transcription
After an open approach, following the bony rasping or reduction, a cartilaginous prominence is frequently encountered. This can be then treated through a component resection through a direct visualization with a sharp 15 blade, and this can be done incrementally, layer by layer. Very little resection needs to be removed to affect a significant change of the soft tissue envelope. As seen, fractions of millimeters are able to be removed while carefully assessing the soft tissue envelope with each pass.
Video Summary
The video describes a surgical technique for treating cartilaginous prominence after bony reduction. Using an open approach, a sharp 15 blade is employed for component resection, allowing direct visualization. The resection is done in small, incremental layers, removing fractions of millimeters to make significant changes to the soft tissue envelope. Each pass involves careful assessment to ensure precision and effectiveness.
