We know that not all calomelon stroke grafts are created equal. They are not so much to increase nasal tip projection as they are to prevent tiptosis and unify and solidify the nasal tip. We know that floating calomelon grafts do not change nasal tip projection so much, but serve perhaps as plumping grafts near the calomelon base. They can also serve to batten the deviated medial crua or lower lateral cartilages that are asymmetric. In this case, the calomelon stroke graft is sewn into position in between both medial crua, both superiorly along the calomelon as well as near the base as well, thus solidifying the nasal tip and preventing nasal tiptosis over time.
Video Summary
Calomelon stroke grafts are specialized for stabilizing and unifying the nasal tip rather than increasing its projection. While floating calomelon grafts don't significantly alter tip projection, they can act as plumping grafts at the base and help align deviated or asymmetric nasal cartilages. In practice, the graft is sewn between the medial crura and along the calomelon, enhancing stability and preventing tipptosis over time, thereby solidifying the nasal tip.
