Video Summary
Venous malformations can often be surgically removed when they are isolated, with good outcomes. For more diffuse lesions, preoperative embolization or sclerotherapy helps localize the malformation and improve resection. Examples included a buttock/thigh lesion and a forearm lesion embolized with Onyx before surgery. Severe facial venous malformations may require repeated interventions, including airway management, debulking, and suspension procedures to reduce drooling. However, extensive facial disease may not be completely resectable and can continue to grow over time. Treatment commonly combines surgery, sclerotherapy, and supportive procedures.
